Volunteer of the Year

Since 2011, East Horsley Parish Council has celebrated the dedication and community spirit of residents through the Volunteer of the Year Award. This award recognises individuals who give their time, energy and enthusiasm to make a positive difference to life in East Horsley.

Each year, we hear about people who quietly support the community, give their time to local organisations, help others or go above and beyond to make East Horsley a wonderful place to live.

Alongside the Volunteer of the Year Award, the Parish Council also presents the Chair's Award and, since 2025, the Special Recognition Award for Long Service.

The awards are presented annually, with nominees and recipients celebrated at the Parish Council's Thank You Party in December.

Call for Nominations - 2026

Do you know someone who deserves recognition for their contribution to East Horsley?

We are inviting nominations for the 2026 Volunteer of the Year Awards.

Whether someone has made an exceptional contribution during the past 12 months or has given many years of quiet and dedicated service to the community, we would like to hear about them.

The three awards

Volunteer of the Year

Awarded to a volunteer from the local community or voluntary organisations who has made an exceptional contribution to village life during the past 12 months.

Chair's Award

Presented at the Chair's discretion to recognise outstanding work or a significant benefit to the community.

Special Recognition Award for Long Service

Introduced in 2025 to honour residents whose dedication and contribution over many years may not previously have been formally recognised.

When making your nomination, please explain what the individual has done and why you believe their contribution deserves recognition.
